Moosepoop has gratiously offered to walk me through this with all the privacy settings and the basics about friending and all that. It's weird to me because there doesn't seem to be a way for me to look at what it looks like the way other people would see it. Anytime I went to someone's facebook page it looked like a simple thing and easy to set up, but I'm seeing a bunch of stuff I don't even care about like what books or movies or whatever I like and keep getting hit with long lists of people to friend that I can't even figure out how they got there... none of my family or anyone else I know does facebook, so I never had any reason to use it.
If I were to give someone the link to my facebook page what should the link look like? I would have thought that it would be something like "www.facebook.com/person'sname" or something like that, but the links for mine look more like a page I'm in the middle of updating or something. I never got any kind of notice or anything from facebook that said something like "your account is set up and here's the link to it" so I'm not even sure yet if it ever got to a point to being set up all the way.
Oh dear, I feel like the biggest dope trying to manage this, and I'm usually good at this sort of thing! 
Btw, this is the first time I've been able to get into DU since some time yesterday... anyone had problems with that? I didn't have any trouble going anywhere else on the net, just here. In all the years I've been here I've heard it happening to other people before but it's never happened to me before. So, if they're having some server problem in my area or something it might happen again. Man, I hope not! I feel helpless not being able to get in here!
