I am married to the original Mr. Fix-it, can do-it-all, and I
mean he can fix, build, design, cook, arrange, store and move
anything,
My life will have money, a paid for house and all but my
quality of life will diminish greatly without his love, his sense
of humor, his intelligence, his devotion, his smile.
I am very sad thinking about it.

Depending on your ages, ten-year TERM life insurance can be relatively cheap.

IIRC you don't have to use "mortgage cancellation" insurance proceeds to pay off the mortgage--
