But think of it this way: We really have people in office who want to talk to people in Iran and Cuba like they're human beings, instead of spending the next decade in a state of cold war with them. We really did have serious progress in gay rights in this country. And there are people who want to have the discussion about income inequality and about decreasing our military interventions. We can build on that.
I am the most cynical bastard on the planet, but there is always reason to hope.
