He's basically an oldies act, and the only way to keep ticket sales up is to throw red meat to the lowest common denominator of the Republican base. Ted knows this, he's OK with it, and playing to the "Obama wants to take your guns" crowd is always a safe bet, as long as you're able to look in the mirror when you're finished. Not a problem for Ted.
