(57,936 posts)94. True. Everyone complimented my front lawn this year. And I plan to add more native plants
and succulents plus stepping stones next year. I wanted to do it this year, but had so many family obligations and events that I could not do it.
The fall is the time to plant in Los Angeles. That is when we get the first of the little water that falls.

It would be hard to think of an artificial lawn because when it does rain, I want earth and plants

Often people plant things not indigenous to their local area. Often a lot of fertilizer, etc. is

I don't think a lawn has to look like an abandoned lot to be environmentally sound.
