(31,464 posts)First let me say, the Republicans have no intention of being civil towards any Democratic president. They feel they OWN the government, and will be mean and nasty to whomever we elect. That said, they're going to be smarting for a long time over this whole black president thing. But...but...now a WOMAN! Oh, the horror. And a woman named Clinton, no less. They impeached her husband and failed miserably. They'll be like bratty little children who don't their way. I mean, even moreso than now. I think the right will view a woman president, on the heels of that horrible black man, to be too much to handle. Governance will not get any better than it is now.
UNLESS we all get our asses out to vote, not just for Hillary (or whomever the Dem nominee) but a straight blue ticket. We need to get the obstructionist assholes out of Congress, out of the Senate, or else we'll be no better off. The GOP has no intention of going gently into the night.
