(27,776 posts)...it's about preserving the ecosystem so that the children of your children can experience the beauty of nature. If you can't understand why that is important to many of us I feel really sorry that you are so self-centered. Also, if you want to talk about "extremists" you are way off target. I'm no supporter of the Earth Liberation Front, but I don't believe we should be putting economic interest so far ahead of environmental conservation that the latter is obliterated.
In short: Do you really want to live in a world without Bald Eagles? How about the California Condor? Or the Grizzly Bear?
There is a difference between what can be a pest and is completely un-endangered to my knowledge like the beaver, and an apex predator like the gray wolf that was almost hunted to extermination in the Continental U.S.
