...it's about preserving the ecosystem so that the children of your children can experience the beauty of nature. If you can't understand why that is important to many of us I feel really sorry that you are so self-centered. Also, if you want to talk about "extremists" you are way off target. I'm no supporter of the Earth Liberation Front, but I don't believe we should be putting economic interest so far ahead of environmental conservation that the latter is obliterated.
In short: Do you really want to live in a world without Bald Eagles? How about the California Condor? Or the Grizzly Bear?
There is a difference between what can be a pest and is completely un-endangered to my knowledge like the beaver, and an apex predator like the gray wolf that was almost hunted to extermination in the Continental U.S.
