This is for the groups.
The Barack Obama Group. Our President and First Lady have carried out one and a half terms with so much calm grace and dignity. All the ugly disrespect that has been thrown in their faces, from "You Lie!" and a SCOTUS shaking their head no to the President at the SOTU. The NRA targeted Malia and Sasha. So much filth and vilification of our first black President and his family, yet they hold their heads high. They have dignity and you will never take that away from them, no matter how hard you try.
History of Feminism. Women. We are half the population of the US and have only a small voice. Our rights are being taken away from us rapidly by ugly old white men. It is not just our ability to rise and earn equal pay, they want to own our bodies as well. They want to take our choices away from us. They want us cowed. They want to man 'splain to us, like we are to stupid to know our own selves. They want us beaten and submissive. No! We will not sit down and we will not shut up. We have more dignity than most people have in there baby finger. We are strong and proud.
African American Group. Oh boy. You have a target on your back when you walk out that door. Your sons and daughters, your dad is dying, their life choked out of them or 5 bullets in the back. SCOTUS told ya racism is over, aren't you happy! It's over. I know, they 'splained it to you. So it must be true. No! Your rights are denied over and over, yet you keep fighting on. Head held high. Dignity and grace as you fight for equality and an end to racism.
LGBT. You want to marry the one you love. You want the right to be at your loves side when they are ill. Those are equal rights. What is so hard about that, I will never know. You have moved forward rapidly, then see all the set backs. Each one hurts. Yet, you are all so proud and have so much grace and dignity.
I did an Op the other day, a possible candidate, George Pataki, sees Women and LGBT as a distraction to the issues. A distraction people, that is all we are. Just something to scrape off the bottom of your shoe.
Screw that! They can't take away our dignity. We need to do this and we need to do it together.n I believe it was Hillary that said EQUAL RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS.
We will not sit down and we will not shut up.
