We had a similar situation with a feral cat who we named Mouse. She eventually came in and never went out again. She never meowed, she followed me everywhere, silently, but I never picked her up or held her which was okay. She just wanted to feel safe. I think she was around 12 years old when she finally passed away. We loved that little kitty. And in her way, I know she loved us.
