(320 posts)It is likely that if she has her license suspended in Texas that other states will comply with that suspension. I believe that most states will not allow a veterinarian to practice if his/her license is suspended in another state. I am not familiar with every state but I have seen this process operate with a doctor who lost his license in one eastern state and cannot get a license in Kansas or in Virginia or New York because of that.
Here is my own thinking on this. I suspect that this individual is mentally ill. Given that, this would be an impaired doctor and Boards have been supportive of drug/alcohol impaired doctors who got help. Having said this, I view what she did as so heinous that I cannot keep myself from feeling that she should lose her license and I do not see redemption.
As a veterinarian who still gets joy from his practice after 44 years, I am despondent and embarrassed for my profession over her act.
