Governments have a duty to ensure a safe and stable environment for workers to peacefully organize and assert their rights. There is no excuse for failure to do so if they are capable of providing safe, stable environments for multinational corporations to operate. We should not do business in places where workers and activists are not seriously protected. Economic pressure should be sufficient to motivate that protection, with no need for us to use force.
