[div class="excerpt"]“We know Scott has been with us in so many issues, we know though that this is a crucial vote, maybe the most important vote that Scott will take in his time in Congress.” Richard Barrera

April 23, 2015 (San Diego) they came, they were from the labor community and the faith community. “Scott Peters, hear our plea, we say no to TTP, we say no to fast track too, our way of life depends on you.” This chant was over the Transpacific Trade Agreement. It is over giving President Barack Obama Fast Track Authority (FTA).

Leaders of the faith community, like Reverend Beth Johnson, Rabbi Laurie Coskey, and Reverent Jay L. Hill joined Richard Barrera President-CEO of the Central Labor Council, and workers from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 669. Tyler Burgraff, a machinist, told the story of industry in San Diego, from the point of view of workers. He has personally been affected by these trade deals.

All I can say is, not happy campers, though it was a very respectful convo. If Peters votes for it, he can forget these same folks walking precincts. That is the feeling I got.
