(62,325 posts)to direct this excellent post to the half dozen or so here who don't agree with that.
Obviously they think that if someone is wrong about something, and I know very little about most talk shows, I don't waste time watching the corporate media, they can't be right about something else. That is THEIR position, not mine.
And in taking that position, they defend Monsanto by doing their work for them. Rather than focusing on the issue, which is a BIG ISSUE in this country.
It may be that they support Monsanto, that is the impression their actions in this thread say to me. Which is fine, that is their right. Or they hate Oz so much they would defend unwittingly perhaps one of the most hated Corporations in the world, and for good reason.
He stood up to a giant Corporation that is known for their brutal tactics against anyone who does so.
I am not defending Dr. Oz as a person, I am defending the message he delivered using that microphone we do not have.
Dr Oz is no threat to this country. Monsanto is. If he is selling something, I don't have to buy it, no one does.
But we have no choice not to buy what Monsanto is selling. That is the difference. No choice, that is not acceptable to, now, 90% of Americans.
And yet they are being ignored. Monsanto is preparing more legislation for this country, which will have the potential to over ride the laws we already have, regarding labeling.
As for Colombia, I can only go by their official statement and the statement of many of his long time colleagues, even some who don't agree with whatever he does on his show, that he is an excellent surgeon, which is why he held the position. And that the issue is freedom of speech in the view of the administration.
If Monsanto succeeds in getting him fired, that will bring even more negative attention to them, and may end up being the straw that breaks the camel's back for them.
Like it or not he is a popular figure with a following. Maybe Monsanto should just label their food as the American want, and end their need to spend so much time trying to silence people.
