at the very least, you will get some crisis counseling and a referral to a homeless shelter and hopefully get temporary lodging for your dog. It can't be easy on her either or safe at this point.
I have a friend who became seriously ill with postpartum psychosis, hearing voices that told her to kill her newborn. She presented at the ER of Yale New Haven Hospital and was promptly admitted for observation and evaluation. Her husband had the baby safely at home. She is doing well now. I am sure there is a major hospital that can help you.
My husband was in charge of our city's homeless commission and still serves as its voluntary chairman now that he is retired. He thinks this is something you should at least try. I hope you do...
