(62,325 posts)guinea pigs for any Corporation, without their consent. A Whistle Blower, a Scientist who worked for 30 years on GMOs, stopped supporting them because he has concerns that they may not be safe. He goes into detail about his concerns. He himself now has an organic garden and wants no GMO products, seeds, or any of their insecticides anywhere near him.
He decided to speak out because he knew that lies were told to the people.
He said he wasn't the only one who expressed concerns, that other scientists did also but they were not allowed to put those concerns in writing, or speak publicly about them. Other people who worked for Monsanto have made similar claims
When it comes to the health of my family, I want to know for sure that they are not being fed food that even might be harmful. What is possible according to scientists is that since GMOs are still in the early stages of development, and in the 'lab tests' which would be US, we don't know that five years from now, they WILL discover that they were not safe, as Monsanto has said.
Monsanto lied about a lot of things, and I tend not to trust anyone who has a habit of lying.
As for Dr. Oz, I don't much about him. I am not interested in the smear campaigns that these Giant Corps start against anyone who threatens their bottom line.
I know that he is right on this. We DO have a right to make the choice. Just label them . IF they are so great, what are they worried about?
I wouldn't voluteer to be a Guinea Pig, and I sure don't want to be forced to be one.
Thanks for your comment, I agree with most of what you said, I would simply like to see labels stating 'GMO PRODUCT' and GMO FREE PRODUCT' so that I can decide, not Monsanto, what I want to eat.
