(101,262 posts)You have given us no clue about the scientific papers you read that said the USA received a heavy dose of radiation from Fukushima (they were papers, weren't they? Not just an assertion on the internet from a pseudonym, or from a blogger?)
People have already, in this thread, demonstrated the problem with RobertEarl's idea: the radiation received in Fukushima has nothing to do with the radiation received in the USA. And the swallows in Fukushima have nothing to do with the swallows in the USA. So his anecdote that he personally hasn't seen swallows has nothing at all to do with Fukushima or radiation.
It's silly to say he has 'more credibility' than the people pointing out the flaws in his claim. What you are going on, in the end, is the 'truthiness' that you feel he has. I suspect that's because he is the one spreading the most gloom and fear about Fukushima, and since what happened there was bad, you're just thinking "the person who says it was really, really bad most be the one with the truth".
When you've read so many OPs by RobertEarl that contain non sequiturs, basic mistakes in science, and a refusal to even attempt to calculate anything, you'll understand that people will bring up his track record of nonsense when he produces another dud.
