Conn had big lead on all scorecards going into the 13th round. All he had to do to become Heavyweight Champion was continue to box. Instead he tried to knockout Louis and got knocked out himself. When asked why he went for the KO Conn said "What's the use of being Irish if you can't be stupid?"
