5. Probably the best thing that could have happened

To these places. Maybe now the local businesses will stand a chance of making a comeback.

This might just bite walmart in the ass in the long run if these communities show a large growth in locally sourced employment. It will be something people can point to as evidence of the corrosive effects of walmart on the local economy.

Or maybe I am chasing rainbows. I would love to see my scenario play out though.
