(1,884 posts)51. DU loads slow for me.
I have two computers, one a Linux machine. Google, 1 gig Fiber. Ghostery on both machines. I do not see the ads on either machine.
It can take several minutes for threads over 75 responses to load.
Both machines have Firefox. The Win7 also has Google Chrome. Same problem. DU is by far the slowest. Most sites load fine.
At another place I sometimes go to, they have AT&T Uverse. 12 meg tops. Same problem. DU is always slower. DI is never as slow, even on the occasional long thread. So no, the problem is not on my end.
What I am wondering is, what if somewhere along the line, someone is throttling the feed? That would explain how some DU'ers don't have a problem and others do. Does the location in the US have anything to do with this?

I have that sometimes, not all the time. As far as ads vs slowness, hell, bring on the ads

I was having problems a few weeks ago (Skinner announced the problem) but lately it's been great.

DU is actually pretty low bandwidth, you can access it reasonably on dial up even..

Hmm….. have you tried logging out and back in? Selecting a different format (under my account)?

I've noticed that too, but I don't wait so long - typically if a link doesn't open in

If the vast majority of DUers are able to access the site, and you are not, then it is a problem

I have ads turned off at the browser level, and use two different ad blocking programs.

Not on this thread--most people are saying they have no issue, or they're referencing

I don't think it's meta so much as maybe an "Ask The Administrators".

That's exactly what I get. Regardless of computer, connection, and location.
