In reply to the discussion: Why Bernie Sanders just picked up a historical endorsement from Occupy Wall St [View all]sabrina 1
(62,325 posts)sent out their 'army' of cops and NG, and brutally attacked unarmed, peaceful protesters, falsely arresting thousands of people. And when it spread to Europe, the same thing happened. The police are now Global, protectors of the top 1%. It was remarkable to see the Paris cops eg, dressed exactly the same way US robo cops were, beating up OWS protesters there too.
But OWS never went away, they moved on to a different phase. Social Justice movements always frighten those in power for some reason.
And now they are organizing again, it seems, doing something for the first time, endorsing a political candidate.
They are fantastic organizers and brilliant at getting their message out so they will be a huge asset to Bernie. He supported them from the beginning.
Great you got to hear Matt Taibbi in person. And it is criminal that none of those crooks on Wall St were ever prosecuted. He did a great job of documenting their crimes, in Rolling Stone.
