86. Now can we discuss actually prosecuting torturers?

Or is it not politically expedient yet?

It makes me mad as hell. Everybody that excused the shit that went on in Abu Ghraib and were too afraid to call torture what it is now gets a heaping helping of it happening in the US.

When you excuse criminals in charge, criminals are who is in charge.

Thank you to everybody that excused, covered up, glossed over and said "But we can't charge them, otherwise we'd have to charge members of our team, too!"

Do you think that man getting abused in the street agrees with your political expediency now? Everyone that states they are sickened by this happening on OUR CITY STREETS - are you happy that we didn't hold torturers accountable? Because this is what happens when you turn a blind eye to torture.

The chickens are coming home to roost, and I hope that everyone that declared that it wasn't politically viable to hold war criminals accountable takes a good look at that man. He's not you - yet - but it is headed your way, too. When you excuse torture, it comes home to you. I said it then, and I absolutely hate that I'm saying "I told you so" now.
