I've been on synthroid for several years and I have a constant battle with my weight. I'm also on other medications that aggravate the problem. I recently had one of the other meds changed and I've lost 40 lbs. in the past two months. I'm going to ask my doctor about changing the synthroid. If he won't change it, I'll have him refer me to an endocrinologist.
