3. I even wonder if the bankruptcy judge would have allowed the managed bankruptcy to proceed

without the bailout. There would have been no private loan allowing GM to formulate a workable plan to restructure its debt payments. The judge would have forced this into chapter 7. Going in, this would have had corporate dissolution and liquidation written all over it, what Romney was really proposing by opposing government help. I'll give him credit for that, advocating a managed bankruptcy that would have led to GM's end.
