(1,232 posts)someone I cared about. What IF she had fallen and gashed the heck out of her head and was lying bleeding out on the floor? Or what if some asshats had broken in and were holding someone you loved against their will -- or far, far worse?
Rather than making the cops waste their time waiting around, disturbing everyone else, causing a commotion and writing reports, etc, etc, etc.
And for what it's worth, it's better to ask forgiveness than permission. Install the effing peephole, smallest, least intrusive one you can find. Let THEM tell you that you can't do it and let THEM pay the bills to the lawyer for the letters that might follow. Do the same thing for the damn cat. Just get the cat and tell them to sod off. If someone else in the building has a cat, tell them to send a letter and hire their own damn lawyer and you'll see them in court.
Fercryinoutloud just do what you want. You're not saving lives here. It's a cat and a peep hole. Keep it clean, sanitary and quiet and no one else will ever know.
