Corporations are people. [View all]

But they are special people.

They want all the benefits of being a citizen but they want none of the costs or responsibilities.

They want to be exempt from international law. They do not want to be held to any judicial standards. They prefer to go before a board rather than go before a jury.

Because they are special. Because they are "job creators".

They want no accountability. If they pollute the air and water, that is simply the cost of doing business. If people die because of their actions, they do not want to go before a jury - they want to go before a special board of like-minded business people.

If this were a chess game, the American people would be in checkmate. In fact, the world is in checkmate and the number one chess player in the world is getting ready to surrender the queen.
