Hate speech against the LGBTQ community is persistent, pervasive, and intrusive.

Taking Westboro as an example, they have gone out of their way to be physically, emotionally, and intellectually (although I hesitate to use that word) confrontational.

And yet nowhere have they been met with violence. The LGBTQ community has endured, argued with reasoned facts and science, and hid their pain with laughter.

Geller's event, by Westboro standards was pretty innocuous. It was a gathering of like-minded bigots to examine hateful cartoons.

But they WERE attacked with murderous intent.

Grown ups in a civilized society work in non-violent, and often long-suffering ways to win hearts and minds.
They certainly don't go around intending to kill over cartoons.

Hope I did you justice, Blue.
