What I was so ineptly trying to say is that "our men and women in uniform" never have to account for anything. What is needed is the courage of their peers to step to the plate and say that things are going wrong and it needs to change. Just beaus they are dressed in blue or white or camo, they seem to be able to get away with anything. When one of theirs is killed in action it is a tragedy, and it is, but it is also a tragedy when anyone not in colors are killed it is not any less a tragedy. And when the streets are lined with people in support of those people killed, they are terrorists or thugs or general malcontents. The men and women in uniform have a built in system of protection and of being honored, even when they do wrong. The people in uniform have the responsibility to correct their own, up to a point.
