If Obama loses the election because of marriage equality [View all]

If Obama loses the election because of a stance on marriage equality I am fine with that.

I don't think he will lose, and if he does it will be over the economy or some international crisis, not over an opinion.

And I am certainly not fine with losing (!!!)

But hypothetically, if he somehow happened to lose and exit polls happened to say it was entirely due to him stating an opinion on marriage equality I would say, "Well... it was still the right thing to do." And I would never criticize it. The world doesn't always reward virtue but you can't second guess doing the right thing.

All of that said, he is likely to win. And I am excited that he thinks it's a good political move.

Getting the campaign onto social issues instead of the economy is super shrewd. The Republicans don't have the same magic with social issues they used to. They have lost women with their social-shenanigans so far and we want to keep it that way.
