What worries me most about the TPA, TPP and all the trade agreements in the pipeline [View all]

You didn't think that the TTP and TTIP are the only upcoming trade agreements, did you?

Here's what keeps me up at night (OK, I only sleep 3 or 4 hours a night anyway):

Lots of tiny fig leaves in the form of language that is purposely formulated to deceive. `In other words, language that sounds good but doesn't really mean what it ostensibly says. isn't legally binding, and/or punches lots of loopholes into the fabric of the texts.

This is hardly uncommon. It's happened in the TPA. We see it in language in the leaked draft chapters. It worries me so much because it's so difficult to expose and gives lawmakers cover should they so desire it.

Here's an examplez' The analysis may seem dry and technical, but it is very revealing on the point of language that sounds good and doesn't do what it professes to.
