(57,936 posts)law to protect investors' from having more liability for a company they invest in than the money they invest, will have the ability to sue countries for democratically enacted laws if the company feels the law costs it money.
We can be pretty sure that employees who lose money because a corporation moves their job to another country will have no right to sue the country to which the job has been moved and will also have no right to sue his/her employer for moving the job.
Which one is created by law, by government? The corporation.
Which one is created by a natural act that makes him/her human and therefore according to American traditions and values the possessor of inherent rights? The human.
Which one is being given the greater rights by these trade agreements? The corporation.
It's simply wrong. It makes no sense. We humans are supposed to enact our laws to please and promote the interests of the corporations under these trade deals. It should be the other way around.
