In reply to the discussion: Louis C.K.'s 'SNL' Monologue About Child Molestation Leads to Uproar [View all]MindPilot
(12,693 posts)43. Funny or not, CK raises a very important question.
It sad that it takes a comic to address the most serious issues. But he is right, exactly how is it that someone would risk literally everything to satisfy an urge that to most of us--if we have it all--is nothing more than a passing thought, dismissed with a "I can't believe I even thought of that..."
Until we get past our natural revulsion and actually examine the problem, along with allowing pedophiles a place to go for help BEFORE they molest a child, we simply continue to allow our children to be molested.

OP
"One Twitter user called it the "unfunniest, most offensive 'SNL' monologue" ever."

Louis C.K. said something offensive? Can we be sure? It sounds so out of character.

"Instant outrage" was why Twitter was invented. That, and to expose the world's most stupid people.

To me it felt like he was trying to be so edgy, but I didn't find it particularly clever or funny.

There is not one time in my life I thought pedophilia was funny (in any context).
