I think it's less an accidental whoosh, and more a purposeful flush. It can be rather difficult to discern that six of one is equal to half a dozen of the other if doing so invalidates a pre-existing bias.



(But we may finally rest easily in the knowledge that should gang violence ever erupt again, all that is required to deny any racial or social aspect is simply to point out the one white fella in any given group, as per the implicit instructions from our under-educated friends)
