4. I was bullied off an on until junior high school.

I was the BIG kid that did not like to fight. My (soon to be best friend until the end of H.S.) new friend however, was different. We met in the 6th grade and Chris was far older then his years in life. He carried himself with a quiet dignity I always respected...oh and something else, he was a black belt in Taekwondo at the age of 14.

He is the one that convinced me it was OKAY to 'get in trouble' if it meant defending yourself from pain and suffering.

After that time (6th grade), I never allowed a bully to lay a hand on me or any of my friends and if it was someone I could not take, them my friend Chris would always step in and I must say...when he did fight, it was always to stop the opponent - not to humiliate them in front of their peers.
