29. What's the movie about?

Maybe the plot is written so the 55 year old falls for a 20 year old or something. I have no idea...Im just asking if anyone knows what the role in the script really is? We are sort of out of context here.

Like it or not, movies are based on looks. The parts sometimes call for a certain look or physique. And it does apply to men in ways too. You don't see any fat old men playing Superman.

I understand this all plays into the narrative that women seem less valued in society as they age while men seem to gain social value with age, but that's a problem that goes beyond Hollywood. But Hollywood actresses should be focusing more on stronger and complex roles than love interests anyway. When you play a love interest, you kind of have to have a certain look. And chances are the younger actresses are likely going to win out.
