(9,565 posts)41. I lived through the Nashville Flood and one of the strangest events during that time was
a house floating down the interstate passing cars. Here is a one minute video of it. The Nashville flood didn't make the news because it happened just as the oil spill in the Gulf happened. It really didn't get much coverage overall, but it did pick up when Andersen Cooper flew in and called out the other media for ignoring it. It was a 1,000 year flood with 15-20" of rain falling in just over 24 hours. My neighborhood had about 400 homes and over 200 of them were ruined.
