What I've found, too, is that if you talk about specific people having trouble, for instance, they can have a heart. But as soon as it's a political question all heart goes out the window. As if real people aren't involved. It's really, really strange.

Like with Ellen, my sister can see a real human being, one she would probably like. But if it came down to a vote on any question regarding homosexuality she wouldn't think about Ellen at all. She'd just think Republican Party talking points. All heart and humanity gone.
