6. I've loved Will since I was a teenager

For some reason I read about him as a kid back in the '60s and became obsessed with him and his writings. Bought his books, found the ones I couldn't buy in the library and copied down his words. We seldom traveled due to us being a family of 7 and Dad a milkman, finances were tight. Finally, when the older 3 kids had moved out, Dad, Mom, younger sister and I made a trip back to Kansas to visit relatives. Dad never wanted to stop along the way but I begged him to stop at the Will Rodgers Museum in Claremore OK. He actually did it and I remember to this day the big statue of Will. That and looking at the damaged typewriter that was with him in the crash, which made me cry.

He must be rolling over in his grave today.

Thanks for the reminder of an awesome man.
