In reply to the discussion: Bernie Sanders, NOT A RACIST [View all]stage left
(3,324 posts)Bernie Sanders is in no way a racist. He is also a proponent of women's rights. He is inclusive and not divisive. (See the quote in my signature line.) I don't in any way worship him or any other politician; I don't expect him to right everything that needs to be righted in this country single handedly and over night or perhaps, even ever. Things may just be so screwed up that they can never be righted. I support him solely because his positions on the issues most closely resemble my own. I don't identify as a populist or a progressive. I'm a liberal. I've been a liberal a long time now. I continued to be a liberal even when conservatives made it a dirty word; being liberal is a good thing I reasoned and nobody was going to make me ashamed of it. I support Bernie Sanders because I believe him to be a man of principle and an advocate of justice, both social justice and economic justice, and the most liberal candidate on offer in the coming
election.
Run, Bernie, run!
