They use to be considered the more left leaning paper in the area. Not far left, just a little left leaning. Then, the Tampa Tribune has always been the paper for the right. Years back the St. Pete Times decided to take a more national stance. They changed their name to the Tampa Bay Times and their advertising budget exploded. They also lost that slight edge to the left they held for so long. Please understand, I am talking left in Central Florida standards. They really of made some poor decisions during Bushs first and second election. At this point they seem to be a little rudderless. If they are going to advertise nationally, they need to cover events like the Sanders kick-off. I can understand them not going much further than that with Sanders right now, but his campaign kick-off should have been front page news. Give the lightening fifty percent of the front page Sanders kick-off twenty, and the rest to start other stories. That would have been the way to go.
