McDonalds Response Regarding Sponsorshop of Duggar Show [View all]

Here is my email:

Why on earth has McDonalds failed to make a public stance that your company will no longer support the Duggar family by sponsoring their show (if the Touching Little Children Network is ever stupid enough to bring it back)? McDonald's is well know for its children's meals, playgrounds at your restaurant and you want to continue to associate yourself with the Duggar Family and the Touching Little Children Network? This makes your icon Ronald McDonald look extremely creepy. I would be very hesitant to patronize McDonalds (particularly with children) in the future.

And here is McDonald's Response:

Hello _____:

Thank you for taking the time to contact McDonald's and share your feelings about our commercial placements. We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

First and foremost, please know that the relationship we have with our customers is one we value greatly. Our customers are at the heart of every decision we make, and we would never do anything to intentionally offend any of our customers.

We recognize our customers support a diverse view of programming interests. When it comes to determining where we advertise, we have an obligation to our customers, employees, franchisees, and shareholders to reach our customers as effectively as possible.

To that end, we work hard to have an ongoing dialog with all the media outlets with which we work. We regularly review programming where our advertising messages appear and strive to associate our messages with programming that is relevant, entertaining, speaks to our customers and supports our brand values.

We appreciate you sharing your opinion and have shared it with our Marketing Department, where it will be considered for future advertising decisions.

Again, thank you for contacting McDonald's.

McDonalds appears to come across as clueless.
