NPR lost me in 1999 during their coverage of the WTO protests in Seattle. The reporter on the scene was repeatedly shouted down by the studio host (Neil Conan? Scott Simon?) for reporting that the protests were peaceful and there was a mix of young people, trade unionists, etc. All the studio host wanted to talk about was broken windows at a Starbucks and dumpsters set on fire. All in an effort to demonize and marginalize the protestors.

That's bad. Glad I missed it. I love the term Neutered Poodles on Republican laps.
