have become toward the right, but not likely. The old saying...The apple never drops far from the tree...is more true than not. Few politicians have his humble upbringing, values, education, intelligence, electability and yes, his Hispanic heritage. Also it's a two-fer...his twin Joaquin is now in the House of Representatives after about 10 years in the Texas State House.
