to forgive the unforgettable. The pressure on the girls while Josh was sent away must have been unrelenting in order for them to accept him back into the fold.

I've little doubt that part of his therapy was to apologize on the return home. And, I've little doubt that his victims were regularly and repeatedly coached to accept his apology. With out a doubt, they were told that Josh's actions were influenced by the devil and that god would make him whole and clean. And if god could make him whole and clean, then so should they.
