Other than a large crowd (which I believe, is a rather good indicator of popularity and support in the world of politics), what specific trouble do you prophecy? And on what objective measure do you base those prophecies on...?

Most likely, because we see only what our biases allow us to, and discount or minimize any other rationalize conclusions. Though no doubt, you'll allege that's not applicable to you.
