Think about how the Vietnam War changed our national priorities. Where did the first wave of deficits come from that caused the diversion of revenue from education and infrastructure? It played into Reagan's exploitation of paranoia and ignorance, which set the stages for prison-industrial and education-industrial complexes.
Reaganomics has not been rejected by any administration since Carter. I think people can be awoken.
