Of course in the more totalitarian regimes than the US (and I purposely leave the US in the group), total control of information flow is possible.

Even worse is the perversion of the flow by injecting information into a conversation to change the whole thread.

With the consolidation of the media conduits (ATT, Verizon, Comcast) the ability to further monitor, control, interfere will increase; and I can't imagine that one or more of these will not take advantage.

<conspiracy_theory>I've wondered about postings on these and other locations. How many are by sentient independent individuals who are only representing themselves, and how many are robotic, contracted ($0.50 per post), by people that need some income. </conspiracy_theory>
