Are you full, my heart? she whispered in Spanish.
Doctors at Methodist Womens Hospital expect baby Angel to return home with his grandmother next week after a lengthy stay: Angel was delivered via C-section April 4, almost eight weeks after his mother was declared brain dead.
Karla Perez of Waterloo, Nebraska, had suffered a catastrophic brain bleed when she 22 weeks pregnant. Though she didnt survive, Angel did. Her doctors and family decided to keep Perez on life support so Angel could continue to develop inside her.
