16. I was part of that Great Generation but I know

there are no Great Wars or "wars that must be fought". 48 million people died in just one war; many of them were great people who would have made this world a better place if they had lived. After World War I we said "This will be the last one; after World War II we said "never again." What did we learn?
It doesn't take courage to send our children to war; it takes insanity. The greatest acts of pure courage where men win glory are not at Normandy or Iwo Jima or the jungles of Vietnam or the sands of Iraq; real courage is when they say No More War and mean it.
