(130 posts)vote for whatever Democrat wins the nomination.
Husband and I both support Sanders, are contributing to the campaign, and look forward to getting involved when things get up and running here in Nevada. Husband is changing his registration for IND to DEM so he can vote Sanders in the primary.
We support him because not only do his ideas align perfectly with our own, but also: he is the only candidate even talking about the real issues we face.
There is a side note to this for me: I WILL vote for the Democrat, no matter who it is, in the general. But I seriously wonder, if we cannot make a strong showing in the house and senate, how willing the Republicans are going to be to work with a woman if Hillary were to win. It's just something I'm concerned about. Look how the right (including those in Congress) have treated a man (barely if at all left of center, friend of corporations) merely because he is only half white. How will they cope with a woman in the top spot?
As I said, if she is the Dem in the general, she has our votes. We do not vote for Republicans or third-party spoilers. I just think that perhaps there would be just as much negative backlash and obstructionism against a woman prez as there has been against Obama.
YMMV, these are just the late night ramblings of a woman of a certain age.
