Greece has to keep its economy going somehow. It is desperate as I understand it. It isn't a choice of nothing or something. I think it is a choice of surviving or not. It's Europe that is making the big mistake.

Greece is in a strategically important position. Russia could strangle countries like Ukraine and several in between if it had more access to Greece. The last thing Northern Europe needs is to have a sizable segment of the Greek population view Russia as a benevolent friend and savior.
